The best way across the Dubai creek is by abra (boat)- for a whopping total of 27 cents. These old rickety boats seem ancient (but sturdy) and it is an amazing way to see old and new side by side from the creek. I went with Angie, our neighbor, and we started at the gold and spice souks then took the abra across the street to eat lunch. Definitely a must do when you come to Dubai! Just ask your taxi driver to drop you off at the entrance to the spice souk – wander around there for a time and then cross the street to the abra station. Bon voyage!
A great description of a part of Dubai historic culture. I look forward to experiencing first hand when cooler temperatures arrive.
