- “But it is one thing to read about dragons and another to meet them.”
― Ursula K. Le Guin, A Wizard of Earthsea
It is one thing to read about DragonMart, and another thing to slay it. DragonMart is a gigantic conglomeration of everything that was ever made in China brought to Dubai. (Take a look at the couches in the pictures – really, can those be found *anywhere* else?) It’s overwhelming, crazy, and well… you just have to experience for yourself. The Mall itself is shaped like a long linear dragon, and when you reach the tail of the first – guess what? There is DragonMart 2. And you guessed it, DragonMart 3 is coming. All I can say is wear comfortable shoes. You don’t need a sack lunch – plenty of food! You probably want to eat CHINESE food (that would make sense, wouldn’t it?) but we found ourselves eating Filipino pinoy fried chicken at a place called Max’s (DragonMart 2…). I think the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. So go – slay the shopping dragon that is DragonMart. Just make sure you don’t get lost in “here be dragons” territory!
Awesome blog post as always. Mary Anne succinctly has managed to capture the spirit of the beast. Dragon Mart was a nice diversion from Dubai’s mid summer day heat.
